The Power of Gathering and Why Our Breakfasts Matter

Updated: Jan 20

Many people see a “ladies’ breakfast” as just a social event. Nice décor. Good food. A bit of music. Then everyone goes home. But for us, these gatherings have become holy appointments where lives are restored, callings are confirmed, and women encounter the tangible presence of God.

At our November breakfast in Silverton, Pretoria, we could only seat a hundred women due to regulations, yet the hunger in the room was overwhelming. As the worship rose and the Word was shared, tears flowed freely at tables that had been carefully prepared in love. It was not the elegance of the décor that changed hearts; it was the Holy Spirit moving between the chairs, touching women who had come carrying silent burdens.

These moments don’t happen by accident. Behind every event is a team of daughters serving faithfully in the background—praying, interceding, planning, setting tables, and preparing the atmosphere. Their reward is not applause; their reward is seeing women leave with hope in their eyes and strength in their steps.

When we “mark the calendar” for another event, we are not filling time; we are making room. Room for God to speak. Room for friendships to form. Room for women to realise they are not alone in the battles they face. Our desire is that each breakfast, conference, or prayer gathering will continue to be a place where daughters of the King are reminded of who they are and Whose they are.
